Tribal Echo, Kleinmond's favourite local stars, launched their latest album, Onner Afrika Son in December 2011. The band's first CD project called “GRAFTE OPPI VLAKTE” was a folk-hip hop album with a very strong conscious and social message. It has been chosen by well known journalist and RSG radio personality, Ivor Price, as one of his top 5 CD's of the year, alongside a band like Heuwel Fantasies. Their latest album, named “Onner Afrika Son” is a celebration of life underneath the African skies, according to the band.
The band's sound is unique in the sense that the different elements of musical styles are perfectly woven into one. Music critics and music lovers agree on one thing; that it's hard to box the band in to a certain genre. The band calls their musical style "Eklektik Roots Maziek". Each song on the album tells a vivid story, stands firmly on its own and speaks to the heart of the listener. Add to it the catchy melodies and harmonies of the energetic band and you will find yourself dancing to the colourful tunes of Tribal Echo.

The way that the songs are arranged keeps the listener or audience bound to listen from the beginning to the end because of the different transitions in most of their songs. The different types of styles you can hear in the band's sound are: Western Cape Traditional Roots Music, Folk, Rock, Reggae, Funk, Jazz, Hip Hop and a bit of Classical .
