Situated approximately 90 kilometers from Cape Town, Kleinmond lies at the mouth of a small lagoon on the Hangklip coastal area. The town nestles between fynbos-covered mountains and the ocean and is the postcard picture of a holiday town with a myriad of activities on offer.
Kleinmond forms part of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve and is the largest of the Overstrand villages. As the commercial capital of the Hangklip - Kleinmond area, Kleinmond is the most urbanized of the four villages and provides the most amenities.

Being surrounded by the Kleinmond Coastal and Mountain Nature Reserve, Kleinmond has the unique distinction of being the only town in South Africa which is surrounded on three sides by Nature Reserve and is home to a large variety of animals and birds and even boasts a herd of Feral Horses.
